OUR COFFEES....
Our coffee is sourced from speciality farmers across the world with an aim to work with them year after year and to build up a relationship with the importers that work with them.
WHAT IS SPECIALITY COFFEE....
Speciality coffee is defined as any coffee that scores above 80 points on a 100 point scale.
Typically, speciality coffee is grown at high altitudes, with much care and attention from the farmer. From there, it is sold at a premium to coffee traders, or direct to roasters.
COFFEE ETHICS....
Meeple Coffees do not have the “Fairtrade” designation however all of our coffees are speciality coffees which means that they command a higher price that cover the farmers costs of production along with a quality premium that is often up to 100 per cent higher than what would be paid by a Fairtrade buyer.
SUSTAINABILITY....
We care about our carbon footprint so for us sustainability covers many elements including using recyclable materials where we can (all of coffee bags across our entire range can be recycled) and the coffee roasting process is carbon offset in an aim to be as carbon neutral as possible.
Beyond that we never order more product than we need and we will continue to change our processes if we can introduce recyclable or more sustainable alternatives.
